SAFTU PROTEST ACTION

Dear employer 
The South African Federation of Trade unions have indicated that they will be embarking on nationwide protest action on 29 November 2023.
The purpose of the protest action is to highlight a number of social-economic issues.
The protest action has been approved by NEDLAC and is therefore protected.
Consequently, employers will not be entitled to discipline employees who are absent from work as a result of participating in the protest action. However, the principle of no-work-no-pay will be applicable.
NEASA members can contact their regional NEASA office should they require more information in this regard.
