MEIBC: Pension- and Provident Fund agreements expired.

Dear Steel Industry employer

The Pension- and Provident Fund agreements of the MEIBC expired on 30 April 2026.

Consequently, employers falling within the scope of the Council are not permitted or obligated to deduct and pay over contributions to the MEIBC for Pension- and Provident Fund contributions.

NUMSA has requested the Department of Labour to renew the extension of these agreements for a further 12 months, but that process has not been completed yet.
