Chemicals Industry: Extension of Collective Agreements to Non-Parties: The Fight Is On.

The National Bargaining Council for the Chemical Industry has begun extending collective agreements to non-parties.

Employers in Glass, Petroleum, Industrial Chemicals, and Chemically-related consumer goods can be forced to comply with high prescribed minimum wages, bonus payments, and leave provisions they did not negotiate.

In the enclosed video, NEASA’s Chief Executive, Gerhard Papenfus, warns that a few large employers and trade unions settle terms, then impose them on the rest of the sector, including SMMEs that cannot afford the cost.

Compliance orders have already been issued against some employers. Chemicals employers should contact NEASA before council agents arrive by emailing info@neasa.co.za or clicking here to request a call back.
