67 Minutes Won’t Fix 30 Years of Failure.

Dear employer

Sixty-seven minutes of community service will not undo thirty years of failed governance.

This week’s Employer’s Voice tackles the President’s Mandela Day newsletter, and the twenty-five trillion rand South African taxpayers and business have paid into a government that has delivered state capture, cadre deployment, and collapsing infrastructure instead of the poverty reduction it promised.

In the enclosed video, Gerhard Papenfus argues that the real cost of poverty in South Africa is not a lack of charity, it is policy that punishes the businesses creating jobs while shielding the officials who captured the state.

Employers do not need a day of symbolic service. They need a government that stops adding regulatory friction to job creation and starts accounting for the money already spent.

Watch now.
