Carte Blanche: Papenfus featured on Carte Blanche (M-Net)

Mr Papenfus featured on Carte Blanche (M-Net), wherein the South African Steel Industry and its long-term competitiveness, and subsequent survival, was analysed against the backdrop of, inter alia, Eskom’s ever-increasing tariff increases, the stranglehold of the various import duties protecting ArcelorMittal SA as well as a failing South African Leadership.

Mention was also made of the Steel Master Plan (where NEASA plays a continuous role) as well as two opposing ‘plans to save the industry’: “A new inclusive economic future for South Africa” by BSA and “Reconstruction, Growth and Transformation” tabled by the ANC.
