Transfer Of Employers From Compensation Fund To Rand Mutual Assurance
MIBCO
TRANSFER OF EMPLOYERS FROM COMPENSATION FUND TO RAND MUTUAL ASSURANCE
Dear Motor Industry Employer
The Compensation Fund has extended the licence of the Rand Mutual Assurance (RMA) in terms of section 30 of the Compensation for Occupational Diseases and Injuries Act 130 of 1993 as amended, to include Class 13 employers. This includes employers in the following sectors:
Iron
Steel
Artificial limbs
Galvanising
Garages and
Metal Industry.
MIBCO employers need to confirm with the Bargaining Council whether this is applicable to them as the amendment apparently only covers certain sectors.
This amendment will take effect on the 28th of February 2015.
RMA offers the same benefits as stipulated by the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act. The Compensation Fund will remain responsible for overseeing compliance of the licensee, RMA, with all the requirements of the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act.
