MEIBC SEIFSA/NUMSA AGREEMENT

Dear Steel Industry Employer

It has come to our attention that some employers, who are not associated with any of the SEIFSA affiliated employers’ organisations, are labouring under the false impression that they need to apply for an exemption from the SEIFSA collective agreement.

Employers, in some cases, are led to believe that they have to join one of the SEIFSA affiliated organisations in order to apply for exemption.

The fact of the matter is that all employers who are not associated with any of the SEIFSA affiliated organisations are not bound by the SEIFSA agreement, as it has not been extended to them by the Minister of Labour, and are therefore not required to apply for exemption from its provisions.
