Dear Gerhard
The sword of duties to protect AMSA cut very deep this week.
I was only allocated a third of the steel that I need until the end of the year. This is not an ordinary sword – it has two razor-sharp edges. The first edge cuts by starving your factory of raw material and the second edge cuts when you have to pay import-duty to fill the void left by the shortage.
For AMSA I have a message: A two-edged sword might present an unexpected danger. To treat a customer in this manner by firstly refusing to grant him enough bread and butter to stay alive and secondly to deny him access to your opposition, will result in resentment that might even cut deeper into the wielder of the sword.
AMSA can avoid this future wound by having the courtesy to ask government to suspend all duties. AMSA would have been in a better position to survive if they pursued a path of being endeared by their customers instead of fostering monopolistic distrust.
AMSA, rise to the occasion! This is an opportunity to show some goodwill to those who have supported you generously over the past decades.
Regards
