AMSA vs the Steel Downstream

On 2 November 2020, we published a communique under the heading …
‘AMSA’s arrogance and the DTIC’s naivety KNOWS NO BOUNDS’

The following are more comments by a few steel businesses:

• The current shortage of steel is also evidenced in basic building steel beams which are currently unavailable in the country. This essentially affects every construction company/mine e.t.c, not to mention, the steel manufacturers.

• Keep in mind that blood is thicker than water between our DTI Minister and the owner of AMSA.

• AMSA is not a cost-effective company to run and cannot cater for the downstream steel processing. Quality is not consistent. Shut AMSA until they upgrade. Import quality products.
