ROAD FREIGHT INDUSTRY: POSSIBLE ATDF PROTEST ACTION

Dear Road Freight Industry employer

The All Truck Drivers Forum (ATDF) has circulated a notice that it will embark on a “national shutdown” on 20 May 2024. The ATDF is not a trade union but simply a truckers’ association which claims to want to rid the sector of foreign employees.

Protest action by the ATDF is usually marred with violence and road closures.

​

It is not clear if the protest action will indeed continue, as previously advertised actions by the ATDF did not always transpire.

​

However, employers are advised to be on high alert for possible protest action.
