Road Freight Industry - Negotiations Deadlock
INDUSTRY ALERT
NATIONAL BARGAINING COUNCIL FOR THE ROAD FREIGHT
AND LOGISTICS INDUSTRY
NEGOTIATIONS DEADLOCK
EMPLOYERS WILL BE REQUIRED
TO PROVIDE MANDATES
Dear Industry Employer
As you are well aware the negotiations in the Road Freight Industry have been underway for some time.
At the last negotiating session, on 17 July, the parties to the Council reached a deadlock on a variety of issues including wage increases.
The effect of this is that the parties have now entered the disputes phase of the process, and should parties be unable to reach an agreement by 24 July 2015, the trade unions will be entitled to embark on strike action.
Due to the ebb and flow of the process it will be necessary for NEASA to obtain a mandate from its members on short notice. In order to influence the outcome of these negotiations, it is imperative for all NEASA members in the Industry to participate in these mandating processes.
We therefore request all members to vigilantly follow the NEASA newsletters and to provide us with a mandate when requested to do so. Please note that during the mandating process only the views of NEASA members will be canvassed.
Your participation is fundamental to enabling NEASA to effectively represent your views at the negotiations.
Kind Regards
Jaco Swart
