NEASA Sustainable Food Security Initiative: NEASA Establishes a 'Garden of Life' in KZN
NEASA SUSTAINABLE FOOD SECURITY INITIATIVE
NEASA ESTABLISHES A ‘GARDEN OF LIFE’ IN KZN
NEASA will participate in another ‘Garden of Life’ project, this time in Hammarsdale, KwaZulu-Natal.
The township has been severely affected by the destruction caused by the floods in the province, in April this year. The establishment of a vegetable garden at the Mpumalanga Heritage Centre will contribute to the alleviation of hunger and poverty in the community. The project is facilitated by NEASA and the Institute for Rural and Community Development (IRCD).
On Wednesday, 1 June, members of the community will be equipped with the necessary skills to become self-sustainable, vegetable-producing micro-farmers.
The ‘Garden of Life’ project is a life-changing opportunity to contribute to a sustainable food supply to the thousands of people who go hungry in South Africa.
Employers who want to participate in a similar project in their specific communities, can contact NEASA for more information, by clicking here.
Any person from any age-group can participate in this project.
