NEASA LOCK-OUT STILL LAWFULL

 
Dear NEASA member
 
We have received reports that NUMSA is claiming to have accepted NEASA’s demands unconditionally, thereby rendering the lock-out by some NEASA members unlawful.
 
Please note that NUMSA cannot settle a national dispute at plant level in respect of individual employers and employees. Any settlement agreement of this nature will, in any event, become null and void if and when the Minister of Labour extends the Seifsa/trade union settlement agreement to the rest of the industry.
 
Until such time as NUMSA has engaged NEASA at a national level and reached a settlement applicable to all NEASA members, the lock-out remains lawful.
