AND NON-FERROUS WASTE AND SCRAP

Dear Metal Industry employer

The Minister of Trade and Industry has instructed the International Trade and Administration Commission (ITAC) to investigate whether it would be appropriate to replace the current Price Preference System (PPS) applicable in the Scrap Sector with an export tax.

To this end, ITAC has published a government gazette requesting comments on the proposed export tax on scrap metal.

Employers in the Scrap and Metal Sectors, whom will be affected by the introduction of such a tax, are invited to provide comment to NEASA in order to submit a comprehensive response to ITAC.
