MEIBC ADMINISTRATION AND DISPUTE LEVY AGREEMENT EXTENDED

Dear Steel Industry employer

The Minister of Employment and Labour has extended the 2011 Administration and Dispute Resolution Agreement to all employers in the Industry, with effect from 23 December 2020, for a period of twelve months.

Therefore, employers in the Industry will be obligated to pay the administration- and dispute levies as set out below, from said date:

  •  Admin Levy: R1,72 per employee per week (R7,45 per month) with an equal                 contribution to be deducted from the employee; and
  •  Dispute Levy: R0,62 per employee per week (R2,68 per month) with an                         equal  contribution to be deducted from the employee.

 Where the total contribution, in terms of the administration levy payable to the                 Council is less than R175 per month, the employer will make up the                                 difference and pay that amount over to the Council.
