GUIDANCE ON INCREASES

Dear Steel Industry employer

Due to a circular sent out by the MEIBC regarding wage increases and to avoid any confusion, NEASA members should take note of the following:

In terms of the MEIBC Main Agreement, employers who are signatories to the agreement must implement an increase of between 5% and 6% on the minimum wage rate (spread between grades A to H) as of 1 July 2025.

However, NEASA is NOT a signatory to the Main Agreement and the agreement has not been extended to non-parties.

Should any employer wish to implement an increase it will be within their own discretion to do so.
