105 tariff codes, comprising more than 600 steel products, are proposed to have their duties increased to the maximum WTO bound rate, ranging from 10% to 30%, depending on the product. These duties will be in addition to any current applicable duties.

14 products will require permits to be imported.

These changes are going to drastically accelerate the decimation of the South African steel industry.
