EMPLOYER …YOU HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE A SOCIO-ECONOMIC IMPACT IN YOUR COMMUNITY: Addressing the unemployment crisis in South Africa
EMPLOYER …YOU HAVE THE POWER
TO MAKE A SOCIO-ECONOMIC IMPACT IN YOUR COMMUNITY
ADDRESSING THE UNEMPLOYMENT CRISIS IN SOUTH AFRICA
Dear employer
South Africa’s official unemployment rate currently stands at 34%, with the expanded unemployment rate at approximately 44%. The unemployment rate of the youth (which includes people between the ages of 18 – 34) is 65%. This poses severe socio-economic challenges, which is already resulting in political instability.
Government’s solution to this crisis, namely, the paying of grants to the unemployed, is simply unsustainable.
In cooperation with a specialist partner, NEASA is introducing a sustainable, tax-beneficial solution, which will benefit both employers and the unemployed youth, as well as ensuring the appropriate application of taxes.
This solution provides for the following:
- enabling unemployed youth, between the ages of 18 and 28, to become self-sufficient through starting and growing their own businesses;
- the management of all aspects of the learnerships and the financial compliance administration by a skilled and experienced team of the service provider; and
- empowering unemployed individuals to earn a monthly stipend and receive seed-capital.
This initiative will be financed by virtue of the application of your company’s learnership tax rebate, after completion of a 12-month period, while simultaneously boosting your social responsibility spend.
This initiative will enable participating businesses to create entrepreneurship opportunities for currently unemployed youths. Companies will fund this by utilising their available tax rebates.
This is a unique opportunity for every tax paying business to make a meaningful
social impact in the lives of people in their local community.
