DOMESTIC WORKER
MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE

 

Dear Employer

The Minister of Labour announced a minimum wage increase for domestic workers, with effect from 1 December 2015 until 30 November 2016.

An employee that works more than 27 hours per week, should be paid not less than an hourly rate of R11.44.

An employee that works less than 27 hours per week, should be paid not less than an hourly rate of R13.39.

An employee that works more than 27 hours per week, should be paid not less than an hourly rate of R10.23.

An employee that works less than 27 hours per week, should be paid not less than an hourly rate of R12.07.
