Dear Industry Employer

The parties to the MEIBC, on Friday 21 July 2017, concluded and signed an amended Dispute Resolution Agreement for the Metals Industry.

This agreement regulates the dispute resolution function of the Council which has come to a halt due to lack of funding.

NEASA signed the agreement as we believe that it is in the interest of our members to have their disputes dealt with in an efficient and expedient fashion at a forum (other than the CCMA) created for this specific purpose. This has not been the case in the recent past.

As a result, NEASA members will be obligated to resume payment of dispute levies as of 24 July 2017.

Employers must contribute 71 cents per week in respect of weekly paid employees and R3,07 in respect of monthly paid employees and must deduct and pay over the equivalent amount from the wages of their employees.

Please note that the Administration Levy is still NOT payable.
