PAYMENTS FOR MAY

Dear employer

The Minister of Employment and Labour has stated in a media statement that TERS UIF claims for May will be accepted as of 22 May 2020.

However, at the time of writing, the online portal was still not open for the submission of May applications.

The Minister further stated that employers who have applied for payment of benefits for the April period, do not have to apply again for May, as payments for May will be processed automatically. We have difficulty in respect of the veracity of this statement and, if proven to be correct, the practically thereof.
