PHASED-IN RETURN TO WORK

Dear employer

The regulations issued by the Department of Employment and Labour requires employers that may operate under Alert Level 4 to have a phased-in approach to the return of employees.

The regulations, however, do not prescribe the criteria as to how the employees who may return to work first, second and so forth, are to be selected.

It is assumed that each employer will have to assess the risks and workplace readiness to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety regulations in order to draw up the phase-in plan for its particular business.

Employers should also consider issues such as which employees can work from home and the accommodation of vulnerable employees when considering the phase-in process.
