TERS BENEFITS EXTENSION

Dear employer

In a previous communique, we indicated that the Minister of Employment and Labour had published a government gazette, on 7 September 2020, indicating that the TERS benefits will be available until the end of the national disaster or until withdrawn by the Minister.

This, in our view, would have meant that the TERS Benefit Scheme should have continued, despite statements by the Department and the Minister that the scheme will end on 15 October 2020.

However, the Minister has subsequently withdrawn the notice of 7 September and indicated that the TERS benefits will not be available for any period after 15 October 2020.

We will keep members informed should there be any further developments in this regard.
