ALERT LEVEL 3

Dear employer

The President has announced that the Covid-19 Lockdown will be downgraded to Alert Level 3 as of 1 June 2020.

According to the President, all industries, with the exception of accommodation which may only perform limited services, will be permitted to operate from said date.

However, the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs has not yet gazetted the amended regulations to conform with the announcement by the President.

NEASA is in possession of draft regulations that have been circulating, which seems to align with the regulations as announced by the President.

Employers may utilise these draft regulations as well as the NEASA TOOLKIT to start preparing their business for reopening on 1 June 2020.

Please note that these are not official gazetted regulations and may be subject to change. Furthermore, these regulations will be enhanced by additional OHS requirements that all employers will be required to adhere to.
