LOCKDOWN ALERT LEVEL 2
Dear employer
The President has announced that the lockdown will be downgraded to Alert Level 2 as of midnight on 17 August 2020.
Alert Level 2 in effect means that all economic activity may resume in all sectors, subject to the required Occupational Health and Safety and social distancing measures.
The following restrictions on movement and economic activity however remains:
- international borders remain closed for travel, except for business purposes;
- alcohol may only be served at on-site consumption premises until 22:00 and may only be sold for off-site consumption between 09:00 and 17:00 from Monday to Thursday;
- the curfew from 22:00 to 04:00, prohibiting movement of people except for work or medical emergencies, remains in place;
- gatherings are still limited to a maximum of 50 people; and
- visits to family and friends are permitted subject to a limit of 10 people.
All regulations in respect of hygiene, wearing of masks, social distancing, limitations on the number of persons permitted on the premises as well as the employers responsibilities in the workplace remain unchanged.
The regulations, in effect, has opened up the remaining sectors of the economy while retaining the same occupational health and safety- and social distancing measures that applied before.
