Covid-19: Essential services - Registration not required (before lockdown initiated)
COVID -19
ESSENTIAL SERVICES:
REGISTRATION NOT REQUIRED BEFORE LOCKDOWN BECOMES EFFECTIVE
Dear employer
The Department of Trade Industry and Competition has issued a media release stating that the BIZPORTAL website is now fully functional and that more than 10 000 employers have successfully registered. We dispute this as this site has been inaccessible for most of the day.
The statement continues to state that due to the high volumes of traffic on the site, not all essential services will be able to register before the lockdown is implemented, but that no company will be prejudiced by any delay in the system. The service will continue to run tomorrow and beyond.
However, the Department stated (very confusingly) that it is not a requirement to be registered or to have a certificate before the lockdown is implemented but must continue attempting to register.
PLEASE NOTE: Only essential services, as per the regulations, may be performed.
Any non-essential activities performed by any business constitutes a criminal offense.
Please notify NEASA should you experience any difficulty registering by clicking here.
Regards
