COSATU PROTEST ACTION

Dear employer

The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) has issued a notice of intended protest action on 7 October 2020.

The protest action is in reaction to socio-economic issues such as poverty, corruption and unemployment.

The National Economic Development and Labour Council (NEDLAC) has issued a certificate to COSATU permitting them to proceed with the protest action and which renders participation by any employee protected.

Therefore, any employee who wishes to participate may do so without facing disciplinary action, but a ‘no-work-no-pay’ policy will apply.
