COIDA: Warning Employers: Compensation Fund Scam Emails.

Nov 17, 2025

|

Dear employer

An employer recently received an email, which, on the face of it, looks like the email originated from the Compensation Fund, insisting on payment of outstanding and overdue COIDA fees to avoid their business being deregistered, blacklisted or summons being issued against them, and to obtain their COIDA letter of good standing.

To view the scam email, click here.

This email is false and fraudulent! Not only is the email address used not a registered email address with the Compensation Fund, but the banking details on the COIDA form are also not that of the Compensation Fund. “Effective from 1 August 2025, all monetary deposits to the Compensation Fund must be made exclusively into the newly designated Nedbank accounts as issued by The Department of Employment and Labour: Official notice (3495 of 2025).”

In light of the above, NEASA warns employers not to make any unusual payments requested by such emails and to rather contact NEASA for assistance by sending suspect requests to coid@neasa.co.za
