Return of Earnings (ROE)

SYSTEMS OFFLINE

Dear employer

Yesterday, 31 March 2025, the Department of Employment and Labour (DoEL) issued a notice stating that it has experienced delays in preparation for the 2024 Return of Earnings (ROE) submission season and that the Compensation Fund (CF) system will therefore remain closed until 10 April 2025.

According to the notice, employers will be able to submit their ROEs from 11 April 2025.

The following services will be affected during the ROE Online system shut-down period:

  • Employer registrations will not be processed; this includes registrations through the CIPC BizPortal platform as well as through the CF’s back-office processes.

  • Employers will not be able to declare any ROEs, online or manually.

  • The CF will not be able to clear employers who are flagged for audit and process applications for a revision of assessment.

  • No instalment applications will be considered during this period.

The following services will NOT be affected during the ROE Online systems shut-down period:

  • The CompEasy system for the processing of claims.

  • Employers will be able to generate a Letter of Good Standing (LOGS) during this time.

  • Employers can still make payments using their CF registration number (U-number).

In line with the delay in opening the system, the expiry date of 30 April 2025 for current LOGS, is extended to 31 May 2025.

Employers who require assistance with ROE submissions, or any other COIDA assistance services can send an email to coid@neasa.co.za.
