Abusive practices affecting SMMEs

Oct 24, 2019

|

Dear employer

The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition recently published draft regulations on the protection of SMMEs against abusive buying- (in agro-processing, grocery retail and online intermediation services) and pricing practices (in all sectors) for public comment.

To this end, we request SMMEs to:

  • provide comment on the draft regulations (should they wish to do so); and
  • provide input on any other governmental action or legislation that SMMEs view as being detrimental to SMMEs any other governmental action or legislation that SMMEs view as being detrimental to SMMEs

NEASA’s experience, over the last 20 odd years, is that government only pays lip service to protecting the interests of SMMEs.

NEASA will utilize this opportunity to sensitise government to the plight of SMMEs.

By participating fully and honestly in this survey, you will

make your voice heard

and assist NEASA in making a comprehensive representation.

Please click here to provide your response by no later than 29 October 2019.

The identity of all participants will be kept strictly confidential.
