2016 INDUSTRY NEGOTIATIONS

Dear Industry Employer

Following a number of negotiation meetings and the declaration of a dispute in the Industry, the first mediation meeting took place on Wednesday, 10 August 2016. No progress was made as employers are steadfast in that substantive demands by the trade unions (including wages) would only be responded to once the trade unions have acceded to the employers' demand for a 3 year agreement and the withdrawal of their (the trade unions') demand in respect of changes in the composition of the sector.

The next mediation meeting is scheduled for Friday, 26 August 2016. We will keep you informed of developments and obtain a final mandate with regard to the unions' demands after the meeting on 26 August 2016.
